"Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Courage enables us to take a faithful step even when we feel afraid. We may face responsibilities that stretch us, conversations we would prefer to avoid, or changes we cannot control. God invites us to face these moments with confidence in His presence.
Joshua received a great responsibility after the death of Moses. The task ahead was demanding, but God did not leave him to depend upon his ability alone. He commanded Joshua to be courageous and assured him that he would not walk alone.
Fear often grows when we focus entirely on what could go wrong. We imagine rejection, failure, or loss until the challenge seems greater than everything else. Remembering God's faithfulness helps us see our circumstances with a steadier heart.
Godly courage remains connected to obedience. It does not require us to act recklessly or prove ourselves through unnecessary risks. Sometimes courage means moving forward; at other times, it means waiting, seeking counsel, or refusing a wrong opportunity.
We also need courage to live with integrity. Telling the truth, admitting a mistake, resisting pressure, and standing beside someone who is treated unfairly may cost us comfort or approval. God strengthens us to choose what honours Him.
Prayer gives us a place to bring our fears honestly. We do not need to hide our trembling hearts from God. As we remember His promises and seek His wisdom, we can act faithfully even before our emotions settle.
You may not feel ready for everything before you today. Begin with the next right step. The God who calls you to obedience is present with you, and His faithfulness gives you a reason to be courageous.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, You know the fears within my heart. Strengthen me through the assurance of Your presence. Give me wisdom to act carefully and courage to obey faithfully. Help me to trust You with the outcome. In Jesus' name, Amen.
